Located just behind the Royal Theatre of La Monnaie and right next to its Ateliers, the luxury hotel The Dominican stands on a site steeped in history. Indeed, a monastery once stood here, founded in 1465 by Isabella of Portugal, Duchess of Burgundy. After being razed and rebuilt several times over the centuries, it became the Brussels residence of Jacques-Louis David, the French Bonapartist painter exiled for his role in the French Revolution, a residence whose façade has been preserved. Today, it is one of the most prestigious hotels in the city centre.
