Chamber Music Ensembles

Many experts consider chamber music to be the most refined musical form, and it is no coincidence that numerous composers have written their greatest masterpieces for this more intimate genre. The orchestra of la Monnaie is a high-ranking ensemble comprising select musicians who are also keen to lend their qualities as soloists to genres other than opera and symphonic works, so it has given rise to a number of permanent chamber music ensembles. In addition, the soloists together form the large La Monnaie Chamber Music Ensemble, which means there is no limit to the possible combinations of instruments and that more or less the entire chamber music repertoire is within their range. Over the years, each of these ensembles has built up a very extensive repertoire. You can hear the Monnaie ensembles in the chamber music concert series at the opera house or on CD, but you can also invite these musicians to take part in your own series of concerts or individual events, in the standard format or a special line-up and with an almost unlimited repertoire.

La Monnaie has a string trio, string quartet, piano trio, piano quartet, piano quintet, wind quintet, wind octet, brass quintet and so on, but it is always possible to request larger ensembles or specific combinations in accordance with your wishes.
