The MM Academy bridges the gap between the educational activities of the conservatories and the realities of the artistic world.
The MM Academy at La Monnaie has since 2015 offered students who have commenced their studies at one of Belgium’s eight conservatories and music colleges the opportunity to supplement their training with professional experience in the orchestra and chorus at our opera house.
This immersion enables the students to acquire an essential professional underpinning from the start of their course thanks to the guidance by Alain Altinoglu (Music Director of La Monnaie), Benoît Giaux (Artistic Manager of the Choral Academy) and Ouri Bronchti (Artistic Manager of the Orchestral Academy).
Students benefit from the opportunity to take part in concerts and opera performances, to come into contact with professionals, to follow singing masterclasses, and to attend all our public performances.
Potential vocal soloists can go on to benefit from further support as MM Soloist or MM Laureate.
The unique and personalised framework of this project enables it to bridge the gap between the educational activities of the conservatories and the realities of the artistic world.
