Presentation

Anyone who books a ticket for Dialogues des Carmélites is welcome to attend an exclusive encounter with its French director Olivier Py, who is also the Director of the Festival d’Avignon. On the evening before the premiere, Py will outline the thinking that underlies his staging of Poulenc’s opera, in conversation with the author and philosopher Laurent de Sutter. Among other themes, he will look at the idea of a ‘heroic life’ and the question of commitment and its potential excesses.
