This 1960 French-Italian film by the directors Philippe Agostini and Raymond Léopold Bruckberger and starring Jeanne Moreau and Alida Valli tells the tragic story of the Carmelite nuns during the French Revolution. The scenario inspired Poulenc’s libretto. So this is the ideal preparation for the opera production that can be seen at De Munt in December. This screening is reserved for season ticket holders and MM Friends.
