In the context of Nuit Blanche 2017, Ivan Ludlow and the production company Silent Opera join hands with La Monnaie for the staging of Exile & Tyranny. Inspired by Mozart’s Lucio Silla, this production explores the themes of exile, loss and tyranny through opera aria’s by various composers (Handel, Monteverdi, Mozart, Philippe de Monte,…). The live music, sung by artists of our MM Academy, will be mixed with a digital score and amplified. Interlaced with the tragic life stories of refugees and exiles, it makes for an absorbing music theatre experience.
