A Jazzy Afternoon

BXL x LDN Interplay, Kris Defoort, Lander Gyselinck, Nicolas Thys

The young jazz enthusiasts from BXL x LDN Interplay and the Kris Defoort Trio (with Lander Ghyselinck and Nicolas Thys as well as the composer of The Time of Our Singing) present a whole afternoon of original compositions, pop numbers turned inside-out and free improvisation sessions inspired by the location and its atmosphere.

In the words of Tomorrow’s Warriors: “Collaboration has always been at the heart of what makes jazz so exciting”. It was in that spirit that the British talent show teamed up with Brussels’ Brosella Festival to launch ‘BXL x LDN Interplay’, a project that gives emerging jazz musicians from both sides of the Channel the chance to work together on their own compositions. On 20 October, they will reveal the result of their pulsating creativity in the Fiocco Room, where Interplay will be the curtain-raiser for the Kris Defoort Trio, before joining forces with the Belgian jazz kings for a spot of jamming.
