Parallel to the performances of Henry VIII, immerse yourself in the universe of this key work by Camille Saint-Saëns. In this guided tour, we will explore three key historical moments: 1533, the marriage of Henry VIII to Anne Boleyn; 1883, the first performance of the work at the Paris Opéra; 2023, the new production at La Monnaie.
Through photographs, historical documents, set and costume models, videos and excerpts from the original manuscript of the score, you will get to the heart of this fascinating work and discover the different stages in the realisation of our new production, directed by Olivier Py and conducted by Alain Altinoglu.
