Bringing to life the life and court of Elizabeth I Tudor in all its glory and splendour: that is the challenge La Monnaie is taking on with Bastarda. Preparing this grand spectacle demands the utmost from just about every La Monnaie Workshop, not least our costume department. There, our tailors and dressmakers have been working for years on costumes that do justice to the brilliance of the Elizabethan Golden Age down to the smallest detail.
This thematic guided tour is not only the perfect opportunity to admire the work of their craftsmanship, but also an original introduction to the upcoming opera production, a six-hour belcanto festival based on Donizetti's Tudor tetralogy.
