In the opening concert of our symphonic season, two musical émigrés come to the fore. Living in the US, Antonín Dvořák soaked up the musical influences of the New World and merged them with his own classical, European language in his final and most well-known symphony. Music Director Alain Altinoglu combines this iconic Ninth with the Choral No. 2 by the Belgian-French composer César Franck. Benoît Mernier, the creator of a completely new orchestration of the work, will take place behind the organ himself.
