Choose your preferred method of compensation for our cancelled performances
La Monnaie gives you several options to have your ticket for one of our cancelled performances compensated, as well as the possibility to support us in these challenging times.
Following the extension of the safety measures to combat the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we are obliged to cancel all productions and events until the end of the season.
We want to compensate you for the ticket(s) you purchased for these cancelled events. To make the process run as smoothly as possible, we have created the online form you can find below. Please fill in this form with all required details and the desired compensation method for each of your cancelled events.
Following the precedent set by many of our culture colleagues, we also want to leave you the option to only ask for a partial refund of your tickets. It should come as no surprise that this global crisis has come as a major blow to our institution, and threatens to have profound consequences for the many artists, singers, dancers, actors and musicians behind our performances.
If you choose not to request a refund, La Monnaie will consider this amount as a gift. We would, of course, be very grateful for that. However, we would still need you to fill in the form. This allows our box office to keep track of the applications. You will also receive a tax certificate from La Monnaie next year for every donation over € 40, which means you will be able to claim 45% of the amount back on your 2020 tax return.
We deeply regret that we cannot fulfil our task as a cultural institution for the time being. In the meantime, we are doing everything we can to get your chosen compensation to you as soon as possible. However, keep in mind this may take a little longer than anticipated due to the exceptional situation and the large number of applications. Do you have any questions? Our box office will remain open during the quarantine period via mail.
