In an increasingly robotized society, we explore and discover new technologies. Although robotics and artificial intelligence can help both humans and nature, they often generate fear because they threaten to overpower us. History teaches us that technology has the power to strengthen economic growth and transform societies. More than ever, this will be the case with the emerging robotics and artificial intelligence. The applications are ubiquitous: from robots in the factories to the conversion of people into cyborgs, from self-driving vehicles to killerbots.
What can you expect from the event Homo Roboticus? A program consisting of dance performances, inspiring presentations, artistic interventions and demonstrations. The event will be held in English

Art and science both arise from creative and critical thinking. They both want to understand the world as it is, as well as contribute to the development and creation of our future. Artists and academics go through a similar process, albeit from radically different frames of reference. Hence, La Monnaie and VUB decided to collaborate on Homo Roboticus, an event where robots and people will share the stage.
