The biggest dance scene in Brussels is back in motion!

For the sixth year in a row, KVS, Théâtre National Wallonie-Bruxelles and La Monnaie are joining forces for Troika, a unique dance programme proposed by the three houses together. Discover a diverse programme with no fewer than five creations, featuring both leading names and emerging talent. Troika will again turn the spotlight on the city of dance that is Brussels in all its diversity!
By choosing three or more shows within the Troika Dance programme, in at least two different venues, you benefit from a reduction of 20%, and even 50% for those under 30.

In his latest creation, Zora Snake delves into issues of immigration, discrimination, social and climate justice, borders and the power of artworks displayed in museums to the glory of (neo)colonizing forces.

Mbok’Elengi is a choreographic thought celebrating joy and liberation. Inspired by the Congolese dances of Sebene, it expresses a longing for ecstasy and revolt in the face of injustice. It invites us to break down barriers and spread the energy of resistance and hope.

A poetic combination of dance, photography, video projection and live music: Sabine Theunissen draws you into an intriguing multidisciplinary experience, inspired by the story of a failed Arctic expedition in 1897 and the negatives of photographer Strindberg, rediscovered 33 years later.

Thirty years after the genocide against the Tutsis in Rwanda, Lisette Ma Neza (the first city poet of Brussels) reflects on violence and what it sets in motion in one’s life and heart, in a dance-filled poem thick with questions.

In the latest Peeping Tom creation, Gabriela Carrizo creates different ‘chronicles’, about past and future, non-existent borders and the unknown. With a dynamic and international cast from, among others, the Nederlands Dans Theater.

In Tempest, Lisbeth Gruwez explores the two sides of anger: on the one hand, a destructive force; on the other, a catalyst for change. She draws on martial arts for a dance in the eye of the storm.

In Bēton, choreographer and dancer Bahar Temiz (known from Ice and Punkt) explores the properties of concrete, the sustainability myth and its impact on nature, urbanity and society.

Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and Radouan Mriziga drew inspiration from Antonio Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. The four dancers are accompanied by violinist Amandine Beyer and her ensemble Gli Incogniti. This production marks the return of dance to the stage of La Monnaie!

Using Zelenka’s Miserere as a starting point, this performance attempts to express the ultimate suffering through an actress as a universal ‘mater dolorosa’ together with a chorus of six dancers that embody the obsessive and constantly renewing vital energies.
